My Book Summary : Ella has worked hard for what she has, which is a good life with her boyfriend Dane in Austin, Texas, a career that she is very happy with, and good friends. But after avoiding talking to her mother and sister for nearly two years, she takes a call from her mother asking her to come to Houston immediately since Ella's younger sister (Tara) has just left her son at Ella's mother's place and she can't keep him. Now Ella has to find out where her sister is, take care of a baby (even though she has never done so before), and take control of the situation and try to fix it.

Once she gets there, she finds that her sister left a birth certificate with the baby. Now she knows that the baby's name is Luke, he's only a week old, and there is no father's name listed on the birth certificate. After making a few calls to her cousin, whom Tara has been living with, Ella has her write up a list as to whom Tara has been with within the past year -- since she wants the father of this baby to take responsibility even if Tara doesn't want him too. The first name on that list is billionaire playboy, Jack Travis.

Jack is a ladies’ man, with no plans in settling down soon, but as soon as he meets Ella & Luke in his office's lobby he realizes how cute she is and he's determined to help her out by putting her up in a hotel until she finds another place to stay, and even agreeing to a paternity test (even though he swears to have been on one date with Tara but never sleeping with her). Now even though the truth comes out that Jack is telling the truth, he keeps helping Ella out through this trial time of raising a baby and straightening out her sister's mess, especially since she doesn't seem to be getting any support from her boyfriend or her mother.

However, Ella has had a hard time growing up and makes a point of not getting close to anyone but Luke seems to sweep under her defenses, with Jack not far behind. Will Ella be able to put everything to rights again? Will she realize what she has before it's too late? Or will she run back to her old life and boyfriend the first chance she gets ....

My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!! This story of Ella & Jack I just LOVED!! The way he just swooped in and took care of her, even when she didn't want it, was wonderful and soo sweet to read! I will say that when she's doing the hunt on who's Luke's father and she's confronting a man who is described to be blond ... I knew exactly who Luke's father was before the 5 or more chapters later confirmed it. Basically for my first time reading something/anything by Lisa Kleypas I got to say I was impressed! I'll definitely have to check out more of her books.

I'm not sure if this happens to every girl ... but the lucky ones (like me) get to grow up with guys who aren't related to her and yet are like family. That's how it is for Belly in "The Summer I Turned Pretty" by Jenny Han.

This 15 yr old lives her life for the summers she spends at a beach house with her mom, brother, and her mothers best friend with her sons. Growing up she has always been the youngest in the pack and the only girl. Over the years she has tried to be included and the summer that she turns sweet 16 things finally change, especially when everyone realizes that she has grown up and isn't a little girl anymore.

When you always grown up thinking you were the ugly duckling ... and now your not ... how can you get everyone else to see it too?

Belly is a great character ... brave in her own way ... loving to those around her ... and never gives up.

It's just the little things you do ... that makes me wanna get with you

Is it possible for you to move back into your old life after you've grown up and done so much? That is what Izzie and Nick try to figure out in "Overexposed" by Leslie Kelly. Izzie grew up being "in love" with her older sister's brother-in-law, who was only 4 years older then her .... but when she was 14 and chubby .... and Nick was 18 and sexy ... she couldn't help but have a crush ... just too bad it wasn't a mutual feeling. Almost a decade passes ... now their older, wiser, but are at points in their lives where they're looking for the next thing to do .... and both just happen to move back to their hometown. Much to each families delight but not theirs. Since Izzie got home she has been living two lives .... one where she helps out at her families bakery by day ... another where she plays a mysterious stripper by night. When they first see each other again at Nick's families pizzeria .... Nick notices Izzie right away and feels like he has to get to know her ... the only problem is he doesn't remember who she is, until after she gets mad at him and walks out the door. Later Izzie finds out that Nick is going to start being a bouncer at her club and tries to keep her secret from him so it won't get out to anyone else. ...... Does Izzie ever get over her crush? Will Nick find out who the mysterious stripper is? And the big question ..... if they meet on common ground will they stay together or will Izzie run away?

I liked the story. Izzie was a great character. 3 out of 5 stars. The only thing I didn't like was that behind the Izzie/Nick story .... there was a story of Izzie's cousin Bridget with her co-worker ... but they really didn't finish it well and just left it hanging. =0/ Which was disappointing.

My Book Summary : A little over a year ago Jenna had a fling with her boss, Nick, while she was working on one of his cruise ships. However, when he found out that she was his employee instead of a guest, like he originally thought, he broke up their relationship and fired her. Since then Jenna's life has change and now she's back on one of Nick's cruise ships again, as a guest, on a mission to inform him that he is the father of her twin boys!! Over the year apart she has tried to contact him to let him know but he never returned/responded to any of her emails or phone calls, so a face-to-face is the way it's gotta be.

Yet, now that she is here she's as nervous as hell, but as soon as she confronts Nick she thinks that it'll all be over and okay ... he'll believe her, will be fine to just pay child support, and then they both can get back to their lives. However, it doesn't seem to work that way. For one, Nick doesn't believe her at all so they need to take a DNA test to be sure, which is fine since she expected as much but now she has to wait a couple of days before the results come in and Nick doesn't want her out of his sight. Then to top it off he already admits to himself (before the results come) that if they are his sons then he is going to want more then just to pay child support, he'll want time with them too and if he thinks Jenna won't allow that then he'll take them away from her.

While the waiting is on for the results both Jenna and Nick realizes things about each other that they didn't know last year, and get closer together. Could this mean a happily-ever-after for them or will they each feel like being together is a big mistake so they'll just do what's right for the kids?

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars! =0) In truth I am surprised I enjoy this book as much as I did, and for a quick read, it was a great book!! The connection between Nick and Jenna is great to read, and seeing how they grow as characters in such a short time is fun too. This is one romance novel I who recommend to everyone! Especially right now that it's FREE through Amazon.com!

"It's Not Summer Without You" [A Summer Novel, Book 2] by Jenny Han

My Book Summary : Belly has always loved summer. She use to wish her days at school pasted by quicker so she could be with her family and their closest friends at Cousins Beach. But this is the first year that she won't be and she's just doesn't know what to do with herself.

The reason for this is because her mother's best friend, Susannah -- who owned the beach house, dead from cancer two months ago, Belly's ex-boyfriend was that Susannah's son, and ever since the funeral she hasn't been able to put the pieces of her broken heart back together. So, when her best friend, Jeremiah -- who is another son of Susannah's, calls to tell her that Conrad (Belly's ex and Jeremiah's brother) has taken off and is asking for her help in finding him, even though she's afraid of confronting Conrad again, she immediately agrees. However, the thing Belly doesn't realize is that Jeremiah has fallen for her too.

They find that Conrad has run off to the beach house and they go after him since he took off the weekend before his summer finals at college, so he needs to return soon. Once there, Jeremiah and Belly find that Conrad had actual reasons for leaving instead of just running away from his responsibilities like they originally thought. In addition, Belly unknowingly finds herself in a love triangle between two brothers, one who would do almost anything to please her and the other who will only show he cares when it suits him best .... what will she do? And when she decides ... how can she choose in a way that won't hurt them all after?

My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!!! I loved this continuation of Belly's story! Especially with getting to read some of Jeremiah's point-of-view! With the way the author left the book I think there will be another one, I hope, and I can't wait to see what that "a couple years later" part was about and who with!! Maybe we'll even get to read a bit from Conrad since he is one very moody character I'm curious as to what he's really thinking about. In truth ... I like both brothers and I can't make up my mind as to which one I want Belly to be with. In some ways I wish she could just have them both ... but I know it's not that kind of story either. LOL. This was a great story about the meaning of friendship, how sometimes that friendship can evolve into something more, what brothers or even best friends will do for one another, losing a person who meant quite a bit to you, and the power of teenage romance -- what's true about it and what we just want to see in rose colored glasses.

"Change of Heart" by Shari Maurer (Read this as a part of 1 ARC Tours)

My Book Summary : At sixteen Emmi has her life all mapped out. She plans on staying the star athlete on her high school varsity soccer team, play college soccer, and then help kids in other countries. She has had these plans for so long she doesn't think anything can get in her way to stop her from reaching her dreams, until she gets a cold during her team's tournament game she passes out on the field. When she gets back home, her parents take her to a doctor and he says it's just a cold and she should be getting better soon. But when she doesn't get better her parents have her get a second opinion and find out that she has 'viral myocarditis' and is going to need a new heart.

Thankfully her friends are there for her, keeping her in the loop with what was going on at school, and just being there for her. Also, it doesn't hurt that the guy, Sam, who she had just been starting to talk to right before all this started hasn't turned tail away from her, and is sticking around to see where their relationship could end up.

But as the months pass, waiting around for someone to die so she can live, she's starting to feel like she needs to claw up the walls from the boredom. To top that off she has already had to go in to the hospital thinking they have a heart for her, to find it wasn't a good match and to be sent back home to wait some more. The only thing that is helping her move forward is her dream/goals/plans of playing soccer again and everything she planned to do once high school was over .... and no one is going to take those dreams away.

While waiting and going to the hospital she meets Abe, a guy her age who has gotten a new heart two years ago and is now just making sure everything stays A-OK for him. He helps her know what to expect and is a great source to vent to. Even though she has a boyfriend and friends to vent to also, she likes having someone whom she can relate to what she's talking about.

Will she get a new heart before her time runs out? Will Emmi decide to stay with her boyfriend or will she turn to Abe instead? And if she gets a heart .... what happens if her body decides to reject it?

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars. The book began with a slow start and at first I didn't know if I could get into it, but about a third of the way into it the book started to get better. As a main character Emmi was okay, even though she had all right to be she was a bit over-dramatic about the situation. In truth until Abe came into the story line I really didn't like the book, and it turned out that he was my favorite character. I will say this book stuck to the truth about how a situation like this would effect a teenager, with the emotions that run along with it for the main character and those closest around her. Also ... if you read it and happen to make it to the end ... grab some tissues because it has a good but very sad ending.
