Looking for a great romance story that isn't 500 pages long? Well ... "The Wallflower" (part of the Halle Pumas series) by Dana Marie Bell would be one for you to look into. It's a cute story, but a quick read (over 200 pages but under 300 pages) that I couldn't out down! It's about Max & Emma who have known each other since they were teens but after moving in different directions (by going to college and just growing up), they find themselves living in their hometown again. Emma has always been in love with Max growing up, but thinks that since he has never dated someone like her she doesn't stand a chance with him. However, Max is instantly drawn to Emma as soon as he hears her speak ... and now the two can't get enough of each other. The only problem is Max's ex just can't take NO for an answer .. know matter what.
Needing another vamp fix ... well we're back to Bones his "Kitten" in "At Grave's End" (part of the Night Huntress series) by Jeaniene Frost. It was good and definitely started off as such. Especially with the revenge/come back of Max (Cat's father). Yet Max is only the beginning ....![]() This girl next door has some secrets ... | ![]() You Belong to Me | ![]() I put a spell on you, because you're mine | ![]() Feasted On: Night Huntress World Series, Book 1 | ![]() My Book Reviews & Book Index: ~ F ~ Authors |

A story that warms the heart and can still be ... funny ... about friendship ... about love and first loves ... about family ... and more. "My Most Excellent Year: A Novel of Love, Mary Poppins, & Fenway Park" by Steven Kluger is a really great book. I usually love books that are written completely out of letters / IMs / Emails / notes .... etc. and this one is no exception.
I'm not sure if this happens to every girl ... but the lucky ones (like me) get to grow up with guys who aren't related to her and yet are like family. That's how it is for Belly in "The Summer I Turned Pretty" by Jenny Han.
Have you ever felt like you had a perfect boyfriend and you never understood why he was with you? I know I have. However, my boyfriend(s) growing up were never as 'perfect' acting as Lauren's in "Bloom" by Elizabeth Scott. Lauren has been together with Dave for almost a year and a half. And even though he is 'perfect' and treats her right ... things with them just never amount to much. She doesn't understand why he's with her. Then a person from her past comes back into her life that she hasn't seen for at least 10 yrs or so .... and he lights something within her. Making her be able to be herself in a way she hasn't been able to be with anyone in a very long time. But as she gets closer to her old friend, the thing she has to deal with but doesn't know how is does she want to give up the life she has let it become or does she want something more?
And the adventure heats up with ... "One Foot In The Grave" (part of the Night Huntress series) by Jeaniene Frost. It starts four years later .. after Cat left Bones as her only way she thought to protect him and her mother. So now she's a special agent for the FBI .... but over the yrs she hasn't found anyone in her love life to match up to Bones yet. Then after she goes on an assignment she can't complete she finds that she has a hitman (or two) after her now. And in a twist of fate she runs into Bones at her best friend's wedding .... Now he wants to help save her and to make her realize he's never letting her go again ...
